To wrap up my 13 days of Halloween is 'Pumpkin' Pie.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! Leave a comment on your favorite Salt Sweet Spice Halloween post.
Pumpkin Pie
Filling
15 oz. - Pumpkin Purée
1 1/2 c. - Sugar
2 Tsp. - Pumpkin Pie Spice
2 - Eggs
1 Tsp. - Vanilla
1 Tbsp. - Maple Syrup
1 Tbsp. - Flour
Mix all ingredients together.
Pie Crust
1 c. - Crisco
1/4 c. - Butter
3 to 4 c.- Flour
1 - Egg
5 Tbsp. - Water
1 Tsp. - Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tbsp. - Sugar
1/4 Tsp. - Salt
In a small bowl combine egg, water, vinegar, sugar, and salt.
(Easy way) Use your KitchenAid mixer with the dough hook or (hard way) combine ingredients by hand. Mix Crisco and butter. Slowly add in one cup of flour at a time. After you’ve added in about a cup and a half, combine the wet mixture and add in the rest of the flour until the dough no longer sticks to the bowl.
Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead into a ball.
Assembly
Roll out to fit the pan(s).
Fill with pie filling.
Bake at 375 F for 25 minutes.
Turn oven down to 350 F and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes.
I used a paper plate, cut out Jack-o-Lantern face, and once pie(s) come out of the oven, place the plate over top and sprinkle with cinnamon
