Crockpot Apples & Apple Hand Pies

Crockpot Apples


6 - Granny Smith Apples

1 c. - Dark Brown Sugar

2 Tsp. - Vanilla

1 Tbsp. - Butter

1/4 c. - Pure Maple Syrup

1/2 c. - Chipped Pecans

1 Tsp. - Nutmeg

1/4 Tsp. - Cloves

1 Tbsp. - Cinnamon

1/8 Tsp. - Ginger

1/4 Tsp. - Salt


1. Peel and dice apples.

2. Add all ingredients to the crockpot and give it a good stir.

3. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, stirring occasionally.


Hand Pies


1 can -@pillsbury Croissant Dough Sheet

1 1/2 c. - Crockpot Apples

1 Tsp. - Almond Milk

1 1/4 Tbsp. - Powdered Sugar

Salt, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg to taste


1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

2. Pop open the@pillsbury croissant dough and cut into six squares. I use a pizza cutter.

3. Fill with crockpot apples, about a tablespoon or so in each.

4. Pinch corners up to each other in the middle and down the seams.

5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg and bake for 13 to 15 minutes.

6. While the hand pies are baking, mix powder sugar, almond milk, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

7. Once the hand pies come out, drizzle with icing and enjoy warm.


Get Inspired


A great fall activity (especially with kids) is to head over to the local orchard and pick the apples yourself! Not only are the fruits more delicious but it's a great way to get outside and get some exercise.
